Before I put fingers to keys, I read the 1-star review here which has been posted, and what they say has an element of truth.If you ARE experienced or have knowledge of selling with Amazon, or setting up websites, then this book isn't going to be of much use to you. However, this book WILL HELP YOU if you are new to selling with Amazon; you don't know, or are unsure of where to start; have no idea on how to get up and running with Wordpress, hosting, and a myriad of other considerations.
If people have done their own research, or purchased other help guides, books, PLR or whatever, then you're going to know most of this. The point is, this is targeted at beginners, those who don't know these things; those who don't possess that level of knowledge - they will benefit.
As for myself... I did in fact know most of what Chris Guthrie had written in this book. For me, that doesn't matter, it didn't take me long to skim through it (I got the book on a free day :-); I also got one or two pointers from it.
The book is well structured, laid out, flows, and is easy to read; it will, ultimately, be beneficial for beginners.
If you know most of what I've briefly covered above, you may want to pass on this; if you don't, it's worth a read.

This book has nothing but the most obvious information. The author really doesn't say much at all, it's mostly just 48 pages of obvious things like "you can make lots of small sites, or one big site" tadaaa. The author is clearly trying to hide the real valuable information for himself, or he simple does not know. I can bet he made more money with this book than with any actual one of his websites. I know because I am an affiliate marketer and was looking for an insightful read. This is not an expert. Not worth the time.
This is an excellent overview of how to set up a home-based online business using the Associates program.
Chris is a great guy with actual experience and success in the online/internet category. This book gives you everything you need both to understand AND get started with this business model. In fact, he even provides you with a link to his free video course for ADDITIONAL information and instruction.
Everything you need to get begin a business with the Associates program is inside this book, and enhanced by the extra resources Chris provides.
This is not a get rich quick scheme. The author clearly outlines the challenges that can come with an online/Internet business, yet he is successful with it and if you follow his instructions step-by-step, you can be too.
Honestly, even if you already have a few websites up and running, you will only benefit from the overview and instruction Chris provides. He's a reputable source, and a true success story.
This is an excellent book if you have the time to research and set up websites using his advice. He uses two types of sites as examples, authority and niche. I say this is a beginning book because it will help you decide which way you want to go before you even have a website, and then you can use his suggestions and free offers right from the beginning. If this is you, then this is a great book to help you get started deciding which way you want to go and how to get it set up.
If you already have a website, and just want to know the steps to take to set up an Associate account, then don't bother with this book because it doesn't cover how to do it. Maybe I'm stupid and all I have to do is click a button and BAM I have an Associate Account and I can grab the code and add it to my site. I can't believe it would really be that simple, but maybe it is. So it looks like I'm just going to have to do more research on how to set up an Associate Account to add to my site, because this part was missing from this book, and was the only reason I bought it.
There are some good free tips in here for beginners of SEO marketing and some insights into , but many of the links provided drive you to websites where the author tries to get you to purchase something else for under $50. I think it was worth $2.99, but I wouldn't go more than that. If you're a total beginner, then this will probably help you. But if your fairly seasoned, you will find this a waste of time and money if you have a year or more experience on the web. Bottom line is itself is very helpful even for newbie's. you don't have to pay extra for fancy add on's from anybody if you do your homework. Do your homework and capitalize on your own success before you go out and buy stuff where some one else capitalizes on yours.
